Family Memories
Bringing it forward.
Recently, I designed several pieces of jewelry for a client using her mother's vintage jewelry. The box had been in a drawer; she was not sure what to do with it.
Candice brought it all to me.
We discussed what and how she could use it. She tried on many styles and decided on what she would wear.
Then I got to work, combining brooches and earrings, adding chain and pearls to make something new with the old treasured pieces.
She even had me make a special necklace for her sister's birthday.
This is the wonderful part of what I do.
There is nothing like it; to be able to bring a treasured piece back to life and have it used, instead of sitting in a drawer gathering dust.
Thank you, Candice, for letting me tell your story.

Paris
There is no place like Paris.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to our friends in France.
Several years ago, after a visit to Paris and Normandy with my family, I designed this necklace to remind me of the trip. It is a tribute to the beautiful "City of Light".

Making Memories
One of my favorite things is to design with a client's family heirlooms.
Recently I had the privilege to take several items; a lapis choker necklace, a pair of earrings, and Kazuri beads; and make them into a necklace. It is one that Marti will wear again and again.
Now she has all her memories in one necklace.
In her words:
"Last year I traveled to Kenya for a third time. On previous trips I had seen
locals and visitors wearing Kazuri ceramic beads. In March I was able to spend the day touring the factory and talking with the bead workers. Most are single
mothers, supporting extended families of 20 plus people. They are some of the most joyful people I have ever met. A few women showed me how to paint certain beads, and giggled when I tried! I went for the beads, but left as a friend and with a
heart full of love and thankfulness. Susan made me this necklace to remind me of
these wonderful women."

Fall Trends
Brooches are trending this fall.
You'll see them everywhere.
If you are like me, I go crazy trying to pin them in the right place or simply get them straight.
Why not do it my way, turn that gorgeous brooch into a necklace, or bracelet.

Friendship
Where would we be without our friends?
I am fortunate because I get to name jewelry designs after friends. It seems that each piece reminds me of some special friend. They all take on a personality. Can you find your favorite?

I have spent the past two weeks moving our daughters into college and grad school apartments in two different states.
May this year be filled with new experiences and joy!

Frendship
Have you ever thought about how amazing life is?
Taking a chance and talking to a stranger has led to some amazing friendships.
Several years ago such an encounter by family members led to new friendships with several families in the Normandy region of France; and many trips back and forth. Recently we were visited by Agnes. She is an amazing person, great traveler, and a good friend. We will miss you, Agnes! Safe travels.
