About Me

About the Designer

Susan Plunkett

I make jewelry because I have always been drawn to things that sparkle with life. I love blending colors and bringing energy to each piece.

I am inspired by the stones, pearls, crystals, and the vintage pieces that I find and then reuse. Nature, paintings, and prints also inspire me as I design.

To me, L’donna Jewelry represents the personal beauty that radiates through someone wearing one of my designs.

Each piece is unique and special. I handpick unique vintage elements and add the finest stones, pearls, and crystals; no two are alike.

When I see a person wearing a piece of jewelry that I designed, it makes me happy to know that someone else is enjoying a piece that I made. In short, the vintage element and stone and pearl colors bring life to the modern piece.

As I combine the past with the present, I am able to create something uniquely beautiful.

Behind the Name

My love for jewelry design began with my mother's 1940s costume jewelry. As a young girl, I played "dress up" with it. Many years later, I began taking it apart, adding new beads and crystals to make new creations from the old.

Today, my designs have a vintage flair. I use semi-precious stones, Swarovski crystals and pearls, freshwater pearls, vintage and Czech Republic crystal along with sterling silver and vermeil to design classic, one-of-a-kind jewelry. Many pieces are hand-knotted on silk cord, and many include a vintage element.

The name "L'donna" comes from my parents. The "L" is for my father, Lyle, and "donna" for my mother. Although neither are here today, naming my company after them connects me to their memory.

It is my intention to make the world a little bit better with this undertaking. Donations have been made to multiple charities, including Habitat for Humanity, Second Harvest Food Bank, Children's Hospitals, and Children's Home Society.
